All of our custom medallions come with our guarantee on service, quality and delivery. Because you partner with us directly as a factory, you have our unquestionable guarantee of service, quality and delivery. You also have a wide variety of finish and packaging options from which to choose. Our standard medallions are 43.6 mm (1 ¾”) diameter and are made of solid bronze – an ancient material that is everlasting. Museums around the world display bronze medallions that are at least 2,000 years old. Bronze can be electroplated in 24k gold or silver. We also mint medallions made of aluminum, brass, copper, nickel, .999 fine silver and solid 24K gold. We are certain that we can produce a medallion for every budget and quality requirement. Please contact us for a free quotation or a free consultation with one of our numismatic specialists regarding your minting project. Medallions are die struck with 400 Tons Per Square Inch for unmatched beauty and detail. |
| Rendering the Artwork | ![]() |
Our in-house
master artists create the original design or work from submitted art. The
rendering is then transferred onto a 10" plaster plate.
With meticulous detail, artists apply plasticine or clay to create the final image in the sculptured high relief. |
| Creating the Hob Master | ![]() |
A pantograph
machine reduces the finished master sculptured image into a finely detailed miniature steel
version.
Highly skilled engravers then add final detail to the master die or ‘hob’.
|
| The Proof | ![]() |
The
master die (hob) is pressed into a soft metal, creating the exact image of
the die.
The “proof” is then shipped by overnight courier to the client for written approval, or changes required. Upon receiving written approval, the master die is then heat treated for hardness and durability.
|
| Duplication | ![]() |
A
number of working dies are pressed into the master die, creating exact
duplicates. Working dies are turned on a lathe to coining press size then
heat treated for hardness.
Our master craftsmen use various grades of diamond dust to bring the die surface to perfect smoothness, ready for the minting process
|
| Blanks | ![]() |
Blank
medallions are punched from carefully cut strips of gold, silver, copper,
bronze, brass, nickel-silver or aluminum. The blanks are then deburred and
carefully cleaned.
After tumble polishing, the blanks are washed in a soap and water solution to remove oil then given a final ultrasonic cleaning. The blanks are now ready for minting.

Artwork
Selection
How do you create your own custom medallion? First, you decide on two images which will be represented on each side of the medallion. They could be from a festival, anniversaries, commemorative events or community emblems. You may wish to involve your community and run a design contest. Possible medallion themes are limited only by one’s imagination. |
| Artwork | ![]() |
We require a 6 inch to 8 inch diameter line drawing of your images. Our in-house artist can help you create your images. |
| Signature & Submission | ![]() |
When
you have your final artwork, your signature is required for approval.
Your drawing is then forwarded to the mint production facility where your images are made into medallions. |
